Xinrui Business School


Established in April 2013, Xinrui Business School is the only Chinese business school which is registered in Europe. It is positioned as a business school with a focus on innovations of enterprises, investment and internationalization as well as cross-culture interaction. The School is dedicated to cultivating management talents with international visions and management knowledge who can adapt their expertise to the political environment, way of thinking and value system in China and Europe.

Professor Edmund Strother Phelps, professor of Colombia University and winner of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Economics, has been appointed as Honorary President of Xinrui Business School. Professor He Zhiyi of Peking University and the former Swiss Ambassador to China, Dr. Jean-Jacques de Dardel, respectively, act as President and Vice President.


History

On April 12, 2013, Xinrui Business School was incorporated in Zurich,  Switzerland with support from both the Chinese and the Swiss governments. 150 guests attended the inauguration ceremony, including the Vice Minister of Education of China, the Consul General of China in Zurich and representatives from the government and business circles of China and Switzerland.

On May 24, 2013, in Bern, Switzerland, Xinrui Business School and the University of Zurich conducted a signing ceremony for the "Strategic Cooperation Agreement on the Cultivation of Global Senior Executives." The agreement was signed by Professor He Zhiyi, Chairman of Xinrui Business School, and Andrea•Schenkel-Wiki, Vice President of the University of Zurich. Chinese State Council Premier Li Keqiang and Swiss Federal President Maurer attended and  witnessed the signing ceremony. Subsequently, Xinrui Business School and the University of Zurich jointly established the Swiss Chinese Case Study Center of UZH to promote academic exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Swiss universities.

on August 21, 2015, Xinrui Business School and the Faculty of Economics,  Business Administration and Informatics of the University of Zurich reached a cooperation agreement and a memorandum on joint development of the program of Master of Advanced Studies UZH in European and Chinese Business Management.

Xinrui Business School and the Chair of Entrepreneurial Risks, ETH Zurich, joined forces to educate doctoral students together in 2019. In September 2019, the first Ph.D. candidate was admitted.

-Management
Professor Edmund Strother Phelps, the recipient of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Economics at Columbia University, is the honorary president of Xinrui Business School. He is a well-known proponent of Employment and Inflation Theory, established as "the founder of modern macroeconomics" and "one of the most important people who influence economic processes."

Professor He Zhiyi of Peking University serves as the Chairman of the board and president of Xinrui Business School. Professor He held the offices of Deputy Dean of Antai College of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, General Manager of State-owned Enterprises, etc. and effectively conducted substantive collaboration agreements between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Duke University in the United States. He has gathered extensive experience in global teaching, study, and cooperation.

Dr. Jean-Jacques de Dardel acts as the vice president of Xinrui Business School. Between 2014-2019, he was the Swiss Ambassador to China and previously served as Director of European and Central Asian Affairs, and held different posts as the Swiss Ambassador to Belgium, NATO, France, the OIF, UNESCO and the Principality of Monaco. Not only does he have a deep diplomatic experience, but he also conducted extensive research on various political, development and economic international issues.

A team of masters with a deeply academic background, a wealth of international experience and vision will guide Xinrui Business School in its bid to pursue the leapfrog growth of international education.

-Training Models
The School and the University of Zurich have collaborated on the joint development of the education program of Master of Advanced Studies (MAS).

The one-year MAS program is split into four modules: core management , European and Chinese business management, multinational corporate internships and dissertation. Students may receive the EU-China Advanced Research Master's Degree in Business Management from Xinrui Business School and the Faculty of Economics, Business Administration and Information Management of the University of Zurich upon completing the degree program and fulfilling the graduation requirements. This certificate is accredited by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE).

The program has currently produced a total of 86 graduates in three sessions, most of whom have been hired by multinational companies based in China and Europe.

The implementation of diverse programs to encourage and improve the intellect of students when teaching traditional business leadership skills, and helping students achieve core competitiveness.

To design internship programs for students and consolidate colleges, businesses and tutors. It combines theory and practice to achieve the application of learning.

As the core of an active network, Xinrui Business School brings together investment institutions, teaching faculty, entrepreneurs and cooperative institutions to build an ecosystem of service and to give intellectual support to the students' entrepreneurial practice.

As China's first business school registered in Europe, Xinrui Business School will uphold the innovative spirit of thinking, trying, breaking through and striving to be the first in the world. Xinrui will keep to its original aspiration and continue to make unremitting efforts for entrepreneurship, innovation education and cross-cultural exchanges between China and Europe.
